Getting Started
1. Intake Call
The first step is a quick phone call with us to gather your basic info and insurance details. In this call, we will gather insurance information, discuss goals you have for ABA, give you information about Starlight, and answer any questions you may have. In this call, we will ensure ABA is a good fit for your family before moving on to the next step.
2. Insurance Verification
The second step is for our billing team to reach out to your insurance and verify your benefits and eligibility. Once we have confirmed that ABA is covered by your insurance, we will email you to obtain any needed consent forms and other documentation (such as diagnostic forms), let you know what your benefits are, and plan a date for the next step.
3. Assessment
The third step is to do an in-person assessment with your BCBA. They will come to your home, and get to know you and your child and conduct an assessment. This takes roughly 1 to 2 hours. Your BCBA will use the information gathered in this assessment to write your treatment plan and authorization request, which will get submitted to your insurance for approval.
4. Starting ABA
Once your insurance has approved our request for ABA services and hours, we will be ready to begin services! It can take a few weeks to obtain this approval, so throughout the waiting process, your BCBA will be in contact with you to agree upon a long-term schedule, plan for a tentative start date, and ensure we have all needed forms and documentation.
Book a New Client Call
Book a free phone call with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)! In this call, the BCBA will gather background information about your child, including insurance information, to check on your benefits and confirm that your insurance covers ABA. The BCBA will also answer any questions you may have about ABA or Starlight.
